Obituary:

Setsuko Arakaki, 75, died on January 3, 2012 in Aiea, Hawaii.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, January 13 at Nakamura Mortuary; with a service at 10 a.m. Burial will be 2 p.m on Saturday, January 14 at Maui Memorial Park.

Mrs. Arakaki was born on July 22, 1936 in Chatan, Okinawa. She was the daughter of Uto Teruya and Seizo Sueyashi.

She was a retired seamstress and sales clerk from Robins and Runway 7.

She was predeceased by her husband, Eiho Arakaki in 1996.

She is survived by her son, David (Lani) Arakaki; daughter, Jo Ann (Mike) Byrd; brothers, Motoyoshi Sueyoshi, Sakae Sueyoshi, Osamu and Sueyoshi; sisters, Shizuko Maeda and Naeko Takara and 3 grandchildren.

I knew Setsuko while working at Robin's. She was a great seamstress and was very patient with everyone. Although I worked with her for a only a short time, I never forgot the time spent getting to know her. My condolences got out to the entire family.
