Paula J. Carroll, 46, of Kihei, Maui, died on January 7, 2012 in Wailuku, Maui.

Private services will be held by the family.

Mrs. Carroll was born on May 15, 1965 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of Benny Lee and Mary Jane Wood.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher F. Carroll; sons, Duke Patrick Carroll and Casey Sun Caroll; daughter, Merrill Lynn Kai Carroll; brother, David D. Wood; sister, Brenda (Jeff) Brady.

Charity, as she was also known, was a life-long vegetarian and animal lover; a student of Japanese language and culture.
