Obituary:

Robert Nobuichi Kimura, 87, died on January 15, 2012 at Maui Memorial Medical Center, Wailuku.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Anthony's Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30am, with mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow at 12:30pm at Maui Memorial Park.

Mr. Kimura was born on December 27, 1924 in North Kohala, Hawaii. He was the son of the late Toyoki and Esther Kimura.

He retired from the County of Maui as the civil defense administrator. After retiring, he worked in his family business, T.K. Supermarket, in Happy Valley.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce I. Kimura, a retired nurse from Maui Memorial Medical Center; daughter, Aimee Kimura-Koch; sister, Akiko Uyeda; and granddaughter, Jazmyne Koch.

"Bob" enjoyed serving on the Wailuku Main Street Association board for several years. In the 50's, he served as a Territorial Representative in the legislature.
