Mark A. Alexander, 72, of Haiku, entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on May 26, 2020. He was born on August 31, 1947 in Puunene. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday July 11, 2020 at Nakamura Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 8:30 with mass to follow at 10:30 am. Burial will be held on Monday July 13, 2020 at the Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao at 9:00am. Mark is survived by his wife of 52 years, Annette Alexander; son Mark (Dixie) Alexander; Elena (Craig) Nishizaki and Jenifer Fernandez; sister Collette Alexander; brothers Jeff and Carl Alexander; grandchildren Shawn Suzuki, Shantelle, Shane, Shawn, Mark, Micah, Makayla and Makenna Alexander; Kalea, Mila and Ella Nishizaki; and Isaiah, Joshua Fernandez and Levi Alexander; great grandchildren Shaedin, Rilee and Lilinoe Alexander. In 1965 he enlisted in the Army and served his country for 4 years. Upon honorable discharge he moved to Oahu. After 2 years he moved back to Maui and began his career as a butcher. He owned and operated Alexander’s Packing for 9 years, then moved to own meat and fish markets in Wailuku and Kihei. He then worked as a butcher for the Four Seasons Resort for over 10 years. During his retirement he enjoyed making sausage, smoke meat and wine at his home, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He was a beloved father, husband, and papa. His presence will be missed. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Manuel and Eleanor Alexander.
