Ronald Edward Bronder
April 10, 1947 - March 23, 2020
It is with great sadness that the Bronder Ohana announces the passing of Ronald Edward Bronder on March 23, 2020. He was better known as Peter Wesley Strange, Pedro, or other derivatives of Peter. The family will have a private celebration of life service at a later date. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting the family with all arrangements. Ron was born on April 10, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA to Edward and Martha Bronder. He made his home on Maui in the early 70’s, his later years in Pukalani. His career and retirement from Maui Land & Pineapple after 30 years as a journeyman welder / maintenance construction mechanic provided ample time in the fields, while maintaining and making improvements to the planting and harvesting machinery. His interests were wide, including surfing, fishing, cars (especially his ‘67 Mustang project), golf (once making a hole-in-one), music, motorcycles, growing his own food and cooking gourmet meals. He had an excellent sense of humor, a wry wit, was well-informed and always had an anecdote or story ready. As his declining health limited activities, he stayed mentally active exploring the world via Youtube (recently learning to play bass guitar) and making a daily foray to the Pukalani Foodland for the newspaper and fresh supplies. He will be well remembered by his sister Pat Richardson Garcia (Bob); niece and nephew, Emma Gilmore (Matt) and Owen Richardson (Trish); aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
