Scott Kiemon Hanano

Scott Kiemon Hanano, 57, passed away at his home in Wailuku, Maui on November 26, 2021 after he contracted Covid 19. Oldest of three sons, he was born on October 3, 1964 in New York City. Having graduated from Maui High School, he went on to attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Manoa. He obtained his law degree from the Washburn School of Law in Topeka Kansas, and also studied law at the McGeorge School of Law in Stockton, California. After having served as the manager of City Bank here on Maui, Scott was employed by the County of Maui as an attorney. In addition, he worked for Maui Executives Protection & Security Services. A man of many talents, Scott was a great gardener, a self-taught mechanic, a wonderful cook and an avid reader. He was also a deeply religious individual who belonged to the Faith Family Church. Scott is survived by his mother Kay, brothers Peter (Trudy) and Jon, and his niece Cassidy. He also leaves behind his beautiful cat, Ukumehame. Scott was predeceased in death by his father Akio. Private funeral services for Scott will be held at a later date. The family requests that no koden or flowers be offered. If anyone wishes, donations in his memory can be made to the Maui Humane Society or to a charity of choice. Scott shall be dearly missed by his family, his cat and the many people whose lives he touched. We truly believe he is at peace and at home with his Lord.
