Anthony Paul Amaral, Sr. 73 of Kihei, Maui, peacefully passed away on February 19, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 3, 1948, in Lihue, Kaua’i, Hawaii to Herman P. Amaral Sr. & Harriet Silva Amaral. He spent most of childhood life living on their family farm in Paukukalo and eventually raised his family in Kihei. At the age of 17, he worked for a Aku Boat called “The Orion” then worked for Sperry & Hanson Masonry as well as Frank Carvalho’s Masonry. In January 1994, he received his masonry contractor’s license and started his own business called Anthony Amaral Masonry, LLC for 23 years. Anthony was a hard-working dedicated family man. He enjoyed being outdoors roping, hunting, fishing, camping, farming, and traveling to Alaska yearly. If you had the honor to know him, you know that he always had a story to tell, knowledge to share, a lesson to teach and of course a joke or two to make you laugh. He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly. Anthony is survived by: Wife of 56 years, Dolores “Dee Dee” Balubar Amaral; Children: Jasmine (Titi) Amaral, Anthony (Tony) (Nan) Amaral Jr. and Tessie (Tani) Amaral-Anderson Grandchildren: Cody Amaral, Kaysha Amaral (Jordan), Ka’iliwai Lau-Amaral, Kaden Anderson, Keali’i Anderson, La’anui Anderson; Siblings: Milton (Pat-deceased) Amaral, Allan (Terri) Marciel, Virginia (deceased) Amaral, Eileen McFarland, Gary-deceased (Sandi) Amaral, Zandra (Gregory) Crouse, Herman-deceased (Terrie Ream) Amaral, Stella (Alan) Souki; Hanai Children: Keoki Huddleston, Nicole Henriques, Millie Cabanting, and Edna Galinato. There will be a visitation at Nakamura Mortuary Maui on Friday, March 25th, from 9:30am11:00am followed by services and a final farewell drive-by at Kahului Harbor with cremation to promptly follow. A celebration of Life will be held thereafter in Wailuku. We would like to send a special thanks to the Hospitalist of Maui Medical Group and Maui Hospice for their assistance during his time of illness.
