Robert Leroy Ukuula Kia, 72, of Kula, Maui. Passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2020 after a battle against cancer. He was born on March 3rd,1948 in Honolulu, Hawaii to his predeceased parents Robert and Charlotte Kia. Graduated from Waianae Highschool. Served our country as a Vietnam Veteran in the Air Force as a Sargent and aircraft specialist mechanic. Retired as a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Mechanic of 25 years. Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years Adrienne Kia; children Lawrene (Ray) Ildefonso, Leona (Ryan) Kiamahoe, and Lopaka Kia; Siblings Josiah Kia, Rose Kirland, and Laverne Kia MD. Predeceased siblings: Albert Kia, Reloy Kia, Sandra Konno, Valerie Kia, Charlene Kaupu, Amelia Folk, Scott Kia, and Jerome Werner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle to all. He loved sports and coached baseball, soccer, swimming, and football. Robert built his home in Kula and always said “Mahalo Ke Akua for our Aina and beautiful sunsets”. Robert was a Maoli Warrior. Nakamura Mortuary will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
