I had long conversations with Shoma several times a year and had the opportunity to meet him at Royal kahana resort more than once.
His conversational skills are unique with great sense of humor and compassion.
I will miss him.

I am deeply sadden to hear of Shoma's passing. Shoma and our family go back to when we were kids growing up. Shoma used to come over to our house to eat all the time. To my mother, Shoma and his family were not only next door neighbors but part of our extended family. Shoma and Elsie visited my wife and I when they were on their way to Lake Tahoe one summer. When I played golf in Carson City one June, he even came to pick me up to show me around Reno and take me to dinner. When my granddaughter played in a softball tournament in Reno, he came and picked us at the hotel and took us to breakfast. He later came out to the ballpark and spent the whole day at the ballpark with us. I called him from time to time just to see how he was doing. He was like a big brother who always looked after me since I was a kid. I will always remember him as a big brother and cherish his friendship forever. Kenneth Tokunaga, Hanford, CA
