Shoma Hotta's Obituary
Shoma Hotta, 88, of Reno, Nevada, died on July 9, 2018 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
As he had wished, a small private service for the immediate family was held. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the arrangements. The family requests no (koden) monetary donations.
Mr. Hotta was born on February 16, 1930 in Wailuku. He started out as a civil engineer and later became a real estate broker on Maui.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Hotta; sisters, Chiyoko Hotta, Frances Emura, Peggy Oda, Ritsuko Ohara and Agnes Hotta; brothers, Hideo Hotta, Kihachiro Hotta and Kiyoshi “Butch” Hotta. He is survived by his children, Jeanne Hotta, Lori (Lloyd) Yokote, Shari Hotta and Michael (Cathy) Hotta; 5 grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette (George) Takara of California.
