Dominie Opena
Aaron, you were the first grandson of my mom and dad, my dad who’s never met you and my mom who was delighted to have seen you come into this world, but unfortunately wasn’t able to really take care of you due to her being paralyzed.
Your younger years in the Philippines were filled with your energy and you gave brightness to the people around you. Such a smart kid you were.
When you, your mom, David and Jovel joined your dad here on Maui, it was a happy moment for us Olleros that we could all be together.
I remember when you and David used to come sleep over my house to play Sega but wanted to go back home whenever it was time to stop playing.
You Ollero cousins were super tight growing up, full of laughter and mischievousness. When we had our family gatherings you guys were always so loud and your Ading Nikki quietly giggling watching the rest of you. I will always cherish those memories.
Your struggles as an adult was really hard to witness because it brought back memories of your dad when he was going through the same things as you. Although there wasn’t much I could do for you, I was glad that you still reached out to me when you needed to. You always have showed your respect to us and that I sincerely appreciate.
It’s going to be hard to deal with losing you too soon, I’ll miss your random calls early in the morning and my prayer is that you found the truth that you were seeking.
Rest now my dearest nephew. May our good Lord show you His eternal love.
Love always,
Tita Dom
