Alexander Andaya Valdez's Obituary
Alexander Andaya Valdez, 62, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2016 at Maui Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Services honoring Mr. Valdez will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, with Mass beginning at 11:00am. Mr. Valdez will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 2:00pm.
Alexander was born on October 27, 1953 to Federico & Francisca Valdez in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Phils. He was the 7th of 9 children. He moved to Maui in 1969, and began working as a laborer in the harvesting dept. at HC&S. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family. He was also a fantastic cook; his specialty was chicken liver with ampayala leaves.
Alexander is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Estela Valdez; sons, Randy & Mark Valdez; daughters, Heidi (Jim) Dagupion & Asahel Valdez and five grandchildren. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, brothers, David (Adela), Ernesto (Leticia) & Rey (Emma) Valdez; sisters, Carolina Llanto, Rosita (Rosendo) Ancheta, Perlita (Ireneo) Casino, Mila (Perfecto) Funtanilla, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
