Allison "Shunya" Ashford Webb's Obituary
Allison “Shunya” Ashford Webb, 68, of Haiku, passed away on June 3, 2016 at her residence surrounded by loving family and friends.
She was born in Yonkers, NY and attended Hastings-on-Hudson High School, University of West Virginia, University of Hawaii, Alliance Francaise and the Beaux Art School in Paris. She was sponsored by the Japanese Government to study the Shakuhaihi, a traditional Japanese flute.
She spent many years living and traveling abroad, pursuing her many passions including photography, scuba diving and collecting traditional instruments of indigenous peoples.
Allison “Shunya” Webb has lived on Maui for the past 30 years, where she had several businesses including a kayaking and hiking adventure tour business and a holistic life coaching business for nutrition, art, spiral writing, yoga and massage. She then joined the Four Seasons Hotel as a massage therapist, where she has worked for the past 20 years.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Webb of Jacksonville, FL; brothers Lane Pettibone and Bruce Pettibone of Ponte Vedra, FL, Philip Webb of Tallahassee, FL and sister Wende Webb of Bradenton, FL, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
