Alvin Glenn "Boogie" Auwae Sr.'s Obituary
Alvin Glenn “Boogie” Auwae, Sr., 81, of Lahaina passed away on January 10, 2022, at his home in Wailuku.
Boogie was born on November 14, 1940 to Violet Coehlo and William Auwae. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Akina) Auwae, two children, Alvin Auwae, Jr. (Jasmine) of Kula and Sherlyn Sauceda (Steven) of Wailuku; two brothers, Warren (Trini), Rodney (Joanne), one sister Sylvia Nagamine (Richard-deceased); five grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He began his career working for Kawano Trucking and as a Paniolo for The Pioneer Mill Cattle Ranch. Boogie later retired from the County of Maui as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Public Works, Highways Division. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends, was an active member of the Aloha Ohana Club, and coached the County Softball League in Lahaina for many years.
Visitation will be held at Nakamura Mortuary, in Wailuku, on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with service 11:00 a.m. Due to Covid-19, the use of masks and social distancing practices are required.
