Alyce Matsumoto Yoshino, 85, of Lahaina, died Aug 6, 2014, in the care of Hospice Maui. Visitation will be Fri. Aug. 22, 9am, at Lahaina Methodist Church, with services at 10am. Mrs. Yoshino was born June 7,1929, in Hana, HI. She Read Obituary
Alyce was such a Giving person, with a capital "G". Every holiday she would bring into Kaunoa's Office (Senior Center), a hand made card, reflecting the holiday. She also crossed Ainakea St to the softball field, to give the coaches a check because she appreciated just how much they did for the girls. I will so miss her! Nancy
Margaret and I send our aloha to you all, giving thanks to God that we had 9 years of ministry, and other visits, in Lahaina to be blessed by Alyce. In addition to being a part of our congregation while I was the pastor of the Lahaina UMC (1962-65) she was a dear friend. She taught our son, Blair, at Kam III and a few years ago he visited her in her home. Alyce housed us a couple of weeks in 1997 while we waited for a rental apt. to become available. We enjoyed meals at Aloha Mixed Plate and did "talk story" often. Alyce was "one of a kind" and those who knew her know just what that means! Our lives are the richer for the precious years we have had with her, both near and far. God bless and comfort you during these days. We wish we could be there for her service.
