Andy and I met in law school and bonded over his humor, his wisdom and his age. We were the same age and were several years older than our classmates. we had seen much of the world and it set us apart. We had also dropped acid and opened the doors of perception and that gave us even more common ground.
I have worn Andy's "Power to the People" tee-shirt for 25 years and still do; and his "I'm planning to change my paradigm, how about you" tee-shirt, which leaves everyone puzzled. But fuzzy thinkers were often left feeling puzzled by Andy's wisdom.
Andy used to prod me to "build up that scrawny body of yours" and in fact, though I never had the guts for a full body Rolfing, I did lift weights, do planks, practice yoga, run and otherwise take care of the body-temple of the spirit - and still do. Thanks, Andy. It's my 75th birthday this weekend and I am thinking fondly of you and will celebrate your life, as well as my own, at my party.
Rest in peace my great friend! Always so kind and loving person. Always asked me how I was doing and never mad. You will be very truly missed and thank you so much for caring and sharing your love everywhere! You are the best!
wow, my one hero I could count on is gone with no warning. Thank you my friend for the awesome support fighting the VA over the years. Your unique humor will be missed by us all.
RIP my friend...will miss your beautiful smile and the fun times we had dodging traffic at the Post Office crosswalk. Paia will never be the same.
Andy was very much a unique individual--easy going and enjoyable!
