Anthony Antone "Kaco" Vargas' Obituary
Anthony Antone “Kaco” Vargas of Wailuku Maui, 64, passed away at home under Hospice Maui Care with his family by his side. Anthony was born a twin of seven children on July 10, 1952 to Confessor and Evelyn Vargas.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 45 years, Lauliuma Fern Cramer Vargas; Sons: Anthony “Kaco Boy” Vargas Jr. (Dee), Confessor “Fito” Vargas (Rogelynn); Daughters: Regina “Gina” Vargas (Ben), Venona-Mae “Nona” Vargas, Raynelle Saito; Brothers: Robert “Bobby” Medeiros, Richard “Eagle” Vargas, Joseph “Toto” Vargas, and Paul Vargas; Sisters: Janet Manibog (Twin) and Rosemarie Tomas. Hanai Sister: Carina Gomes (Wayne). Mother: Evelyn Tavares. Grandchildren: Brianna “Bri” Vargas-Hafoka, Brailyn Hafoka, Jordan Waiohu, Justice “Kama” Waiohu, Tahlia-Ann Vargas, Lelah-Ann Vargas, Maliko Vargas, Malika Vargas, Izayah Saito-Campbell, and Elizah Saito-Campbell. Great-Grandchildren: Brayden Hafoka-Apolo, Braylee Hafoka-Dung, and Rhyden Waiohu.
Anthony enjoyed fishing, diving, laying net, hunting, bowling, card playing, and hanging with family and friends. A man of many trades, Anthony also enjoyed making and playing “potagee” horseshoe, boxing, playing pool, fixing cars, and sharing endless jokes. Anthony inspired many loved ones near and far and remains an everlasting light shining on all in his presence. He retired from HC&S with 36 years of service as a heavy equipment operator, also worked for Bulgo’s Mortuary, Norman’s Mortuary, Kitagawa, Chevron, and Maui Beach Hotel.
Visitation for Anthony will be on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Nakamura Mortuary from 9:00am-1:00pm, Service will start at 11:00am, Cremation to follow. Please join us for a pa’ina to follow at the Paukukalo Hawaiian Homes Hall.
