I had the privilege and honor of working with Austin for many years after I hired him to be an animal control officer. What I saw in him was a deep sense of compassion for animals and knew he would be a perfect fit at the Maui Humane Society. Austin was such a kind and gentle soul and his smile could light up a room. I like so many will miss this gentle giant and I know he is at peace now surrounded by the many cats and dogs he helped throughout his life.
There are so many memories but the one that keep coming to mind over and over again was the Love and sincere heartache he had for me when I lost family members. He hugged me and helped me through very tough times. His deep love for his mother was and IS eternal. You are a sweet and gentle giant. Be at peace sweet Austin, we will always love and cherish you.
