Barbara A Bagio's Obituary
Barbara Adeline Martin Bagio, 88, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully at Maui Hospice, surrounded by family and friends on May 29, 2019. She was born on November 1, 1930, in Wailuku, Maui. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at St Anthony Catholic Church, followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. Barbara was a retired Warehouse Clerk at Maui Land & Pineapple Company. Born and raised in Wailuku, she attended St Anthony Jr/Sr High School from kindergarten until graduation and was always a big supporter of the school. She graduated from Loretto Heights College in Colorado with a degree in business. She was involved in the community, serving on the planning commission and a long-time ILWU union representative. Always giving back, she volunteered for many years at the St Anthony thrift shop and school bazaars. She loved being surrounded by, taking care of and supporting her ‘ohana. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Antonio “Tony” Bagio, brothers, Theodore “Teddy” Martin, Walter “Leonard” Martin, Lorrin “Larry” Martin, sister, Amelia Rodillas; and grandchildren, Daphne Kawaiaea, and Kaliko Sanchez. She is survived by her daughters, Wallette (Milton Jr.) Kawaiaea, Ivy Jean (Rob) Sanchez, Pauline (Kappy) Kalama; son, Anthony Hanakahi (Jeni) Bagio; sister, Edith Pagampao; grandchildren, Tiare Kapika Sanchez, Daryl (Amber) Kawaiaea, Derek Kawaiaea, Kapena (Loke) Kalama, Toni Marie Kalama, Bobbi-Lin Kalama, James Thomas, Joshua Thomas; and great grandchildren, Dylan, Lilinoe, Ariana and Dalton Kawaiaea, Kumaka Kawaiaea. Kamana’o Kawaiaea and Marianne Kawaiaea, Lilia Ann Sanchez, Krystian Navarro-Sanchez and Khoen Sanchez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
