Benjamin “O’Man” Smith Sr., age 81 from Wailuanui Maui passed away on September 5, 2019 at his daughters’ residence in Pukalani. He was born on April 11, 1938 in Hana, Maui. Visitation will be held on September 20, 2019 at Nakamura Mortuary from 9am to 11am; with service to begin at 11am. He retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the State of Hawaii.
Benjamin Smith Sr. is survived by his seven children; U’ilani (Zachary) Visaya, Leihua (Kaleo) Smith-Tokunaga, Benjamin “Chucky” Smith Jr., Mele Smith, Peter “Kaholowa’a” Smith, Kalani “Boy” (BJ) Smith, and Leialoha Smith. Fifteen grandchildren, Christine Kaniho, Shayna-Lynn “Pikake” Hill, Makamae Smith, Raymon Lat, Angel Lat, Allen Lat, Keola Gaffey, Makana Visaya Kamuela Olter, Malama “Tita” Artui, Xavier Artui, Marley Smith, Kassie Smith, Kanehiwa “Bulla” Smith, ‘Ua Smith and two great grandchildren, Hazen and Stylin Smith Salter. Two sisters, Anna Bagnall and Haunani (Charles) Barclay and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
