Betty Haruko Higa's Obituary
Betty Higa passed away at home on September 9, 2014. She recently retired from the Maui Potato Chip Factory after 40 years of dedicated service. Prior to joining the Maui Potato Chip Factory, she was employed at Emura Jewelry for several years.
Betty loved and cherished spending time with family and friends. Her life was focused on sharing and caring for others. Betty made extraordinary efforts to share everything and anything she could bless anyone with. This included sharing anything she owned, grew, sewed or cooked.
Anything Betty did, was done with pride. No task was completed until it was perfected, according to her high standards and expectations. Betty found joy in going on long car rides, collecting plans and shopping with her husband, Stanley and sister, Sachiko (Lillian) Arakawa.
Services will be held at the Door of Faith Church on Friday, October 17, 2014. Public viewing 8:30am - 9:30am, service 9:30am - 10:30am, lunch 10:30am - 11:30am, burial at Maui Veteran's Cemetery, Makawao 1:00pm.
Betty is survived by: husband, Stanley (Seiki) Higa; sons, Stephen and Darrell Higa; daughters, Sandra Nakao and Cheryl Lawrence; grandchildren, Joshua Rodero, Danelle Higa, Mitchell Lawrence, Bryson Higa and Jennifer Lawrence; great grandchildren, Josiah Rodero, Aiden Lawrence and Teya Nishiyama. Brothers, Herbert Yoshino, Hideo Yoshino; sisters, Ikiko Watanabe, Patsy Hiyakumoto, Sachiko (Lillian) Arakawa and Kimiyo Nakamiyo. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
