Blaker ( Mack ) McDonald's Obituary
McDonald (Mack) Blaker passed away in his home in Makawao on the evening of Wednesday,
February 28, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was 96 years old.
Mack is predeceased by his wife of 75 years, Rose Blaker, and is survived by his son, Clay
Blaker, daughter-in-law, Allene Blaker, daughter, Annie McLemore, son-in-law, Jim McLemore,
daughter, Cindy Marmack, son-in-law, Tim Marmack, granddaughter, Elaine Ramos, grandson in-law, Ariel Ramos, and great-grandson, Caelum Ramos.
Mack was a WWII Navy veteran. In his younger years, he loved to scuba dive and skin dive,
and was a champion spearfisherman. His love of surfing and diving brought him and his family
to Hawaii in 1970. He and his wife, Rose, founded Paia Trading Co, a family-owned antique
business that was in operation for 41 years. Mack was also a commercial fisherman for 25 years
aboard his and Rose’s boat, the Rosie B, out of Ma`alaea Harbor, as well as an avocado farmer
and avid bottle collector.
The family would like to thank those individuals at BAYADA Home Care and Islands Hospice
for their help and support.
