Brigido Acoba's Obituary
Brigido Acoba, 92, of Kihei, Maui, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021 at Hale Makua.
Brigido was born on October 8, 1929, to the late Mr. Augustin and Mrs. Arcadia Acoba, in the Philippines. Brigido leaves behind a legacy as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a humble hardworking fisherman, and farmer- serving local businesses as one of Maui’s local produce vendors. When he wasn’t working, he cherished spending time with his children and grand/great grandchildren, teaching them the value of respecting one another and to be grateful for the little things everyday. Brigido loved cultivating his garden, traveling/going on adventures with his wife of 66 years, and bringing relatives & friends closer together through his entertaining stories. His smile, joyful spirit, and compassion he expressed to everyone around him will truly be missed.
Brigido leaves to cherish his memory, to his children, Cecilia (Nestor) Soliven, the late Leo (Elizabeth) Acoba, Erlinda (Steven) Libby, Thomas (Josephine) Acoba, Florentino (Jeanie) Acoba, Bernie Acoba, Willie (Nena) Acoba, and Regina Acoba; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings Pablo Acoba and Maria Bagain. He will be joining his loving wife, the late Victoria Acoba; siblings, the late Catalino Acoba, the late Manuela Bagain, the late Victorina Gorospe, the late Mariano Acoba, and the late Liboria Cua.

Services honoring Mr. Acoba will be held on Friday, December 17 at 6:00 pm. at Nakamura Mortuary, 1218 Lower Main St., Wailuku and Saturday, December 18 at 10:00 am. at St. Theresa’s Church, 25 W Lipoa St., Kihei. Mr. Acoba will be laid to eternal rest next to the love of his life after Saturday's service at 12:30 pm. at Maui Memorial Park - Garden of Meditation in Wailuku
