Carol Gamulo's Obituary
Carol Mae Gamulo was born September 19, 1940 in Brainerd, MN to Edward and Ada Thornton. She passed away on August 6, 2016 at home in Pukalani.
Carol had a passion for fishing and cooking, which fit right in with owning and running a resort and catering business in Ideal Township, where she also served as fire warden and cpr training officer for Ideal Fire Department. More recently she was a bookkeeper for Glass Products of Hawaii and considered her coworkers her second family.
Carol is survived by her husband Douglas, son Andrew (Diane) Gilquist, grandson Jack Gilquist, brothers Edward (Ardelle) Thornton, Bob (Delores) Thornton, sister-in-law Sharon Gamulo, brother-in-law Dwight Gamulo and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Thornton, Pat Abear, brothers Jack and Wayne (Dutch) Thornton.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm, with services beginning at 2:00pm.
Her family would like to thank Rick and Deb, Mary and Jerry, Island hospice, and all the Kaiser doctors and care givers for their loving support.
