Charles P. Aki, 88, of Kahului, died July 13, 2011, at Roselani Place under the loving care of both Hospice Maui and the staff of Roselani Place.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 23, at Kahului Union Church; with a service at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park. The family requests casual attire.Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements.Mr. Aki was born on Oct. 30, 1922 in Lahaina. He was the son of Charles and Ruth (Kaonohi) Aki."Pake" worked for Maui Electric Co. for many years and was very proud of his accomplishments with the company.He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Hareko and his son, Dennis.He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Aki-Calloway; granddaughter, Kimberly N. Calloway; his son-in-law, Robert Calloway and his many nieces and nephews. Charlie loved talking story on the ham radio, fishing and golfing. He loved to make people laugh. He also enjoyed his time with the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 12 and US Army 1791st Engineer Service Platoon (1944-1946). Charlie lived life to the fullest and found peace in the Lord and Jesus Christ.
