Chester Masaichi Hayase's Obituary
Chester Masaichi Hayase, 83, of Wailuku, died on March 30, 2015, at Hale Makua, Kahului.
Visitation will be April 14, 4:00pm, at Nakamura Mortuary, with services at 5:00pm. Inurnment will be April 15, 9:00am, at Maui Veteran’s Cemetery, Makawao.
Mr. Hayase was born Oct. 5, 1931, in Hana, HI. He was a mechanic for the County of Maui, Parks and Recreation Division.
Mr. Hayase is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Hayase; children, Craig (Patrocinia) Hayase, Celia (Owen) Shibata, Connie (Kenneth) Nakabayashi, and Cal (Carrie) Hayase; brothers, Jack (Betty) Hayase, and Melvin (Eileen) Hayase; sisters, Joan Nishino, Gertrude (Thomas) Akamine, and Carolyn Hozaki; grandchildren, Jason, Sheri Ann, Sharla, Lia, Charlene, Kelsie, and Ashley; great grandchildren, Taylor, Kiyoko, Leland, Alexis, and Brysen.
Chester was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed going to Vegas, gardening, and making boiled peanuts and fried tako.
