Chieko Tashiro's Obituary
Chieko Tashiro, 86, of Kahului, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2012, at Hale Makua, Kahului.Private services were held.Mrs. Tashiro was born in Kumamoto, Japan on June 7, 1926, and came to Maui in 1960 with her husband, Shigeo Tashiro (predeceased). She was proud to become a naturalized US citizen on April 23, 1993. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and her home.She is survived by sons Alan, Neal (Carrie), Tokuo (Mildred), Fukuo (Diana), Earl, George (Esther); daughters Emiko Fujikawa and Thelma Uyama; sisters Ritsu, Atsuko, and Kumiko; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Chieko loved to sew, read, listen to music, watch UH sports and the LA Lakers, and spend time with her friends and family.
