366 days have come and gone since we lost this father, husband, son, brother, friend, colleague and teammate. His 46 years were marked by humility, generosity and kindness. He lifted others, while seeking nothing for himself.
When mountains of adversity threatened to alter his course, MacLeod followed the approach he had learned during his time as an elite runner: Lowering his head and leaning into the incline of the mountainside, MacLeod shortened his stride, pumped his arms and worked harder to maintain his pace.
He applied grit and determination to his efforts in all walks of life. And he found reasons to laugh and smile in all situations.
The season for mourning this great loss has drawn to a close. For me the time has come to follow his example in my own life in a way that honors his. For me, now is the time make this man famous. In life he eschewed the spotlight and attention. I am compelled to share this man's story with the world, so they can benefit from knowing of the elegant simplicity that was the life of Chris MacLeod.
