Clarice Kinoshita's Obituary
Clarice M. Kinoshita, 78
Clarice “Sachi” Kinoshita, 78, of Wailuku passed away on April 25, 2021 at Hospice Maui Hale,
surrounded by her family under the exceptional care of Hospice Maui staff. She was born on
March 31, 1943 in Wailuku to Charlotte and Noboru Mochizuki.
Clarice graduated from Baldwin High School, then went on to earn her OTR in Occupational
Therapy from San Jose State University. After graduation, she returned to Maui and worked
until having children, fulfilling her dream of becoming a mother and homemaker.
In her “retirement” years, Clarice enjoyed watching Japanese soap operas, taking care of her
plants, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband Mike Kinoshita, sons Jon (Wendy) and Craig (Lori), grandchildren
Aden, Kaz, and Sammi, and brother Matthew (Marilyn) Mochizuki.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Maui for their
exceptional care and compassion, Pastor Ken Tanaka, of Kahului Union Church, for his spiritual
counseling and guidance, and Dr. Ian Okazaki and staff, of Straub Medical Center, for their
excellent medical care.
Private services were held at Kahului Union Church. The family respectfully requests no koden
or flowers.
