Clayton Hema Sr.'s Obituary
Clayton G. Hema, 74 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 29th, 2024, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on November 14th, 1949, in Hana, Maui to the late David Jr and Gladys Hema. He was married to Linda Lou Seabury on February 1st, 1974. He served our country during the Vietnam War and later worked and retired from Hawaiian Dredging as a foreman. He really loved his job, his position and the people he served. Clayton truly lived a simple life, loving to chit-chat and talk stories till the cows came home with his friends and family. Some of his greatest attributes and qualities were that he left a legacy for his family. He had an abundance of artistic and creative abilities. He loved making things with his mind and hands. He had the greatest memory and for a man who was so stubborn, he kept his word. His heart was so big, that he loved hard, had the highest regard for helping and gave with such a generous heart. He protected our family as he saw fit, he worked hard for everything he had, and he wasn’t afraid to talk your ear off on how he did it. He was a proud father, and even prouder papa and great grandpapa. Clayton truly loved his family and his friends and had no tolerance for “crap”. He was survived by his family. His brothers, Urban, Buck, Greg, Ivan and his late sisters Jocelyn, Christina, Leona and Janice. Children Clayton Jr aka “Jun”, Donald aka “Buddy, Lucas and Karrie Anne. To the family, friends and others whose lives Clayton touched, are invited to partake in a last goodbye at The Nakamura Mortuary Funeral home.
Claytons’ legacy of love and inspiration will continue on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be truly missed by his family and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. To us, he will always be, The Man. The Myth. The Legend. We love you dad!
