Corrine Margaret Saffery, 83, of Kahului, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at her Kahului residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 21, 1941, in Wailuku, Hawaii, Corrine lived a life marked by devotion, grace, and unwavering love for her family. Corrine was the cherished wife of Eugene Henry Saffery, Sr., and the devoted mother of: • Cherie Ann Kalehua Saffery-Akeo (Lester T. Akeo, Jr.) • Eugene Henry Saffery, Jr. (Ann Rabasa) • Deke Ikaika Saffery (Michael Smith) and • Hanai daughter-Julie Kimoto. She is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Laurine Stancil (Douglas). Corrine was a proud grandmother 10: Brandon Saffery-Stancil, Thomas Akeo, GeAna Saffery (Emerson Uremakl), Eugene “Ekolu” Saffery, III. (Jennie Nakamoto), Kacey Saffery, Lester Akeo, III., Lesli Akeo, Randol Stancil (Larissa Calabrese), Kamalani Akeo, Lexis Akeo. Her legacy continues through her 11 great-grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy. A 1960 graduate of St. Anthony High School, Corrine was the beloved daughter of Lorraine Lopez and a pillar of strength and love for her entire family. Known for her sophisticated sense of style and impeccable fashion, Corrine was the backbone of her family. Her hardworking spirit and nurturing nature were evident in every role she took on, whether as a wife, mother, grandmother, or friend. Her love and devotion to her family and community were the hallmarks of her extraordinary life. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the heart of her family. Services will be held to celebrate Corrine’s remarkable life. Details will be announced at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time.
