Craig Seiji Yatsushiro's Obituary
Craig "Yats" Yatsushiro, 83, passed away on November 30, 2025. A man of deep roots and community spirit, Yats was a familiar face throughout Wailuku, known for his love of the outdoors and his loyal friendship.
In his younger years, Yats was rarely seen without a golf club. Whether he was coaching the Baldwin High School golf team, hunting upcountry, or "talking story" at the golf course and bowling alley, he was at his happiest when he was active and among friends. As the years passed, he transitioned to a more quiet service—personally tending to the gravesites of family and friends, ensuring their resting places were kept with dignity.
Above all, Yats cherished his family. He is survived by his brother, Vance (Aimee) Yatsushiro; sister, Dale Yatsushiro; niece, Lori (Scot) Yatsushiro; and nephew, Rylan (Noelani) Yatsushiro. He held a particularly special place in his heart for his grand-nephew, Blake, and grand-niece, Ekela Jean.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am.
