Cresencio Yagin's Obituary
Cresencio Yadao Yagin was born on September 12, 1944 in Tapao, Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to parents Felix Basques Yagin and Dionicia Yadao Yagin. Upon completion of his studies at the Sinait National High School, he and his mother immigrated to Hawaii in 1966, joining his father a sakada, who arrived in Hawaii in 1946. He married Cecilia Iloreta on May 8, 1972 and together they have two sons, Nolly and Marween. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping, fishing with his throw net, do-it-yourself home projects, taking photos, playing the guitar, singing and dancing, writing poetry, and watching sports, especially basketball and boxing. He was active and involved with various Filipino community groups such as the Maui Filipino Community Council, Binhi at Ani, Ilocos Surians Association of Maui, and the Sinaitenians of Maui where he served in various positions including President. He worked as a laborer with the Del Monte Corporation on Molokai for 9 years. His family relocated to Maui in 1974. After 4 years with the Wailea Development Corporation, he began a new job as a landscape supervisor with Wailea Ekahi Village, retiring as its Director of Landscaping 35 years later in 2014.Through retirement he devoted more time to landscaping and gardening projects, fishing, taking care of his father, spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. On the morning of June 5, 2022, he passed peacefully at home with his sons and wife at his side.Cresencio is predeceased by his parents Felix and Dionicia Yagin and his sisters Rosalina Yagin, and Eufrocina Ilac. He is survived by his wife Cecilia Yagin, his sons Nolly (Grace) Yagin & Marween (Jennifer) Yagin, grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Landen, & Emily, his brother Rudy Yagin, and his sister Corazon Yadao. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nakamura’s Mortuary with service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also continue the following day, Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Nakamura’s Mortuary with a funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
