Daniel Clancy's Obituary
Daniel F. Clancy, V, son of Carol Clancy and the late Daniel F. Clancy, IV, passed away at his home in Maui, Hawaii, on April 7, 2021. Born December 11, 1960, Dan graduated from Shenendehowa High School in 1978, was one of the first participants with the German American Partnership Program and was instrumental in its success. Dan went on to graduate from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont, with a BA in Political Science and Russian/German. Dan learned to speak almost nine different languages. He found his way to California working with Intercontinental Hotels, which finally landed him in Hawaii. Dan enjoyed chess, collecting stamps and coins, debating, cooking and his dog, Jackie.
Dan is survived, in addition to his mother, by his siblings, Caroline Clancy, Johanna (Peter) O’Brien, Michael (Tamara) Clancy, and Brian (Jessica) Clancy; nieces and nephews Matthew (Courtney) Clancy, Katherine (Brian) Clancy, Kevin O’Brien, Dawnyelle Clancy, Kat O’Brien, Richelle Clancy, and Michael Clancy; maternal Aunt Joan (Larry) Marsell, cousins, Dianne Cummer, John Marsell and James Guglielimi,.
Services were private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dan’s name to the American Cancer Society or the St. Edward’s Building fund.
