Mr. Toguchi was born on November 8, 1957, in Wailuku, Maui. He was a graduate of Baldwin High School and University of Hawaii at Manoa (BBA, Finance). Daniel was the owner and president of M. Toguchi Body Shop, Inc., a business that was passed down from his father, Masano Toguchi. The shop meant the world to him, and he truly appreciated the dedication of his employees and loyalty of his customers throughout the shop’s 67+ years in business. He expressed his desire for the legacy to continue. His favorite pastime was playing in the Maui Senior Softball League and especially enjoyed the post-game “celebrations” with the boys.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Alexandria Toguchi; sons, Brent (Baylee) Toguchi and Davin Toguchi; brother, David Toguchi; sister, Lynne (Cory) Uchima; grandchildren, Bodhi and Breezy Toguchi; and nephews, Trenton and Bryson Uchima. He was predeceased by his parents, Masano and Janice Toguchi; and son, Jarrett Toguchi.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all those who’ve shown their love, friendship, and support throughout Dan’s life, especially through his recent cancer journey.
