The first time I met uncle Darrel was at kanaha beach when I was homeless and living on then beach I met him through his daughter Hannah hall and we became close friends but she’s like a hanai sister to me and uncle Darrel and aunty Kathy hall is like my hanai mom and dad ❤️❤️❤️❤️💖💖💖💖
While I was living on the beach they used to come and do feed my sheep and do like a little church and they would give food out. I knew uncle Darrel since the beach❤️❤️ And now he’s gone and I was heartbroken when I heard that he passed away my heart was broken inside because he was like a dad to me and he will be missed 🥺❤️💖❤️❤️

When we lived at Coldwater Lake in Michigan, Darrel took me out in our little sailboat to give me a lesson (this in mid-May) He was showing me how to turn into the wind - unfortunately he forgot the sail was cleated. Over we went into the water. It took several attempts to get the sailboat righted with a full sail of water - and us laughing the entire time. We returned soaking wet to Gordon waiting on our dock, where we hilariously related the story. One of the many crazy, fun memories we have of Darrel.

Gordon and I will cherish the photos of our last time together in 2019. Kathy, Shane, Alex and Hannah we keep you in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

My first time meeting Darrell was when he picked us up at the airport for my grandson Jared and his daughter Hannah’s wedding. He was so gracious and exuded the love of God. It was my pleasure to meet his family and share food and fellowship in their home. My first time in Hawaii, he drove us to the park where I experienced the gorgeous view of the mountains, palm trees and sparkling blue waters.
The day of the wedding rehearsal at the Kings Cathedral, I met a man that gave his testimony of how Darrel had witnessed and ministered to him physically, and because of him he came to know the Lord and changed his life. His face was radiant with God’s love.
May God’s comfort and love surround Darrel’s family and give them peace.

It will always be etched in our minds, the first evening we met while visiting Maui! The topics of Anabaptist Living came up, as Darrel shared his testimony of deliverance from alcohol. But, one thing was perplexing why is there a disturbing cigarette smell yet? Dad challenged Darrel to stop and ask Gods blessing on th cigarettes before smoking them. This caused Darrel to stop cold turkey since he knew that was not possible, for which we thank God! Our friendship has continued through the years since, and we rejoice in the Lord, for the testimony Darrel has left behind! Looking forward to a great reunion in the sky! I remember us all having dinner the night before Uncle Darrell and Aunt Kathy's wedding. We all sat at a big, horseshoe shaped, booth table. I remember thinking how pretty Aunt Kathy's big bright smile was and how happy everyone was. Just a warm wonderful feeling of celebration and family. We always lived far away from each other so those moments were very precious for me and I'm glad I got to share them. "Hawaii Hall" family (and Hannah) is in my heart thoughts and prayers.

When Darrel was 12 he visited me when I lived in San Francisco. We were touring the city by cable car and when it was our place to get off, I jumped off, forgetting to tell Darrel to follow me! He stayed on the cable car as it went around the corner! I panicked but soon he appeared, laughing his heart out! We laughed about that for years. I miss such happy times with my little bro.
