David U.M. Franco's Obituary
Born in Puʻunēnē on October 12, 1951, the fourth child of 5 to Florence Manner. He passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly on his ʻohana land Kahiapo Place, Paʻuwela, Haʻikū on July 21, 2023 at the age of 71. David is an Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was also an employee of the County of Maui, Dept. Of Water Supply.
David Franco was a patient and kind man, always sharing fruits and cookies and had a great life filled with adventures and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be remembered as a cowboy, hunter, diver, ʻopihi picker, pool shark, and green thumb. He was an excellent cook, great friend, loving son, brother and father who was always filled with aloha and happiness. We will miss his mellow ways, hugs, and kisses.

Preceded in death by Beloved parents: Florence E Manner, Ernest D. Manner, Joe T. Franco. Siblings: Eunice Olandy, John G. Franco. Survived by: sister Paulette Tau-a, brother Paul Franco. Children: daughter Anastasia M. Kniatt, son Kawika W. Franco. Grandchildren: Kehaulani, Kolomona, Kaulana, Jeanne, & Lovely. Nieces and nephews: Gunter, Gary, Davelynn, Guy, Murphy, Bliss, Carissa, Justin, Joe. and numerous grand and great nieces and nephews.

Service at Nakamura Mortuary, Thursday Evening August 24th 2023 6-9pm
Final Viewing at Nakamura Mortuary, Friday morning August 25th 2023 9-10am
Burial at Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao Friday Morning August 25th 2023 11am
Celebration of Life luncheon at Haliʻimaile Community Complex following burial. All family and friends are welcome. Floral donations may be sent to Nakamura Mortuary Thursday evening August 24th before 6pm.
