Denise Yvette Leilani Akana's Obituary
Denise Yvette Leilani Akana, 62, of Maui, passed away on March 12, 2024. Born on May 15, 1961, in Santa Ana, California, she eventually made her home on Maui over 40 years ago. She dedicated over 30 years to American Savings Bank as a Supervisor Bank Teller and was a cherished member of the True Jesus Church.
She is survived by her brother Chester Woody (Nancy) Akana, sisters Karen (Miles) Nagasako, Carolyn (Carlton) Flores, and Mugs Akana, along with nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Aaron (Katherine) Akana, and brothers Alan and Charlie Akana.
Denise will be fondly remembered for her famous potato salad and chocolate delight, as well as her loving and warm spirit.
A celebration of life will be held on April 18th, 2024, at the Binhi at Ani Filipino Community Center, starting at 2 pm.
