Dra Norma V. Arconado's Obituary
Dra. Norma V. Arconado, 84, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Born on May 8, 1933, in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Gabriel and Juliana Ventura. She married the love of her life, Captain Juanito Arconado, in 1957, in the Philippines. She received her B.A. in Elementary Education and PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy in Education) at PWU, Manila. She was a teacher, guidance counselor and principal in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte for 28 years, until she moved to Maui in 1981. She continued to teach in the Hawaii Public School system for 29 years as a Bilingual & ESL teacher until she retired in 2011. She is survived by her five loving daughters, Anna Marie (Arnold Trilles) of Maui, Bella Marie (Vladimir Alvarado) of Oahu, Connie Marie (Fausto “Jon” Duque, Jr.) of California, Donna Marie (Dean Economos) of Illinois and Eva Marie (Michael Mirzai) of North Dakota; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her Father Gabriel, Mother Juliana, Husband Juanito, Son Ferdinand and Brothers Alfred & James.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Nakamura Mortuary (1218 Lower Main St., Wailuku, HI) for the public from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, with prayer services to begin at 7:00pm. Second day funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church (1627 Mills St., Wailuku, HI) from 9:00am to 11:00am, with mass to begin at 11:00am. Dra. Norma will be laid to rest at Maui Memorial Park at 12:30pm.
