Edsel No'eau Ralar Jr's Obituary
Edsel No'eau Ralar, Jr passed away on Wednesday August 30, 2023 at his home in Kahana, Maui surrounded by his Wife, Mom, Dad and Son. He was born in Wailuku on June 18, 1981 to Edsel N. Ralar Sr. And Kathryn Holoaumoku Ralar. He was a booming 11 lbs baby and such a bundle of joy.
Edsel, affectionately called most of his life by No'eau, was a proud graduate of Lahainaluna High School class of 1999. He was a member of the Napili Kai Foundation as a Keiki and continued after as a musician. He attended Tech school in Long Beach, CA and Bartending School on O'ahu.
He had a natural gift for all things technology and could fix, assemble, and re-program anything that came his way. He would drop whatever he was doing and joyfully help anyone in need.
He loved playing music, listening to music, curating the best playlists for every occasion. He loved going to concerts and listening to live music. He was quick to greet you with a kolohe smile, hand you a drink and put on just the right song to make you feel at home.
He worked at Harley Davidson, Bartended and lastly worked at the Old Lahaina Lu'au doing lights and sound. While doing that he was also a Musician with the Napili Kai Foundation for over 8 years. He was a member of the Lahaina Hawaiian Civic Club and joined when the club was reestablished in 2004.
No'eau's love for his children, Kainoa Gomes, Devlin Tyler Nahonoopi'ilani Ralar and Leila Marie Malulani Peters-Ralar was never ending. He always had a soft spot for all children.
While working at Kobe Steakhouse, he met the love of his life, Amber McNabney. Known to his friends as "Red," he and Amber spent an amazing 9 years together and shared many great memories. Reds favorites were going to the Indy 500, honeymooning in Mexico, go carting, sporting events and countless concerts.
No'eau always wanted to make sure everyone was cared for. He fought his battle with ALS with a strong spirit and a Warrior heart.
He is survived by his Wife, Amber Jean McNabey, Children Kainoa, Devlin Tyler Nahonoopi'ilani Ralar and Leila Marie Malulani Peters-Ralar, Mom and Dad Edsel No'eau Ralar Sr and Kathryn Holo'aumoku Ralar, Sister Nohealani Holo'aumoku Ralar and Niece Namahina Holo'aumoku Kawabata, Grandparents, Bernardette Kidder, Togo and Hana Ralar.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
