Edward Akahi's Obituary
Edward Akahi, 76 of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 29, 2020 under the care of Hospice Maui. He was born to Samuel and Elizabeth Akahi on July 22, 1944 in Wailuku. He retired as a Maintenance Engineer for the Royal Lahaina Resort. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10 at Nakamura Mortuary from 10:00am to 11:00am with service to begin at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. Edward is predeceased by parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Akahi; siblings, Samuel Akahi, Grace Manalo, Elizabeth Pacheco, Julia Keawe’ehu, Lily Earls, Harriet Lurendez; son, Edward H. Akahi; survived by his loving wife, Dortha “Dottie” Akahi; children, Ernestine Akahi, Lloyd Akahi, Jason Akahi, Seward Akahi, Leeward (Chanel) Akahi, Jasmine Akahi, Edward J. Akahi, Shaynalee Akahi, Ikaika Akahi, Richard Akahi, Kacen-lee Akahi, Shaeden Akahi, Raymond Birano, Anthony Birano; hanai son, Jonathan Gonsales; hanai daughters, Jaime Okudara, Jean Okudara and Candyce Gonsales; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, James “Kimo” Akahi; sister, Irene Akahi of Las Vegas.
