Edward "Eddie" Kahalewai, 64, of Wailuku, died on September 5, 2011 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 24 at Nakamura Mortuary; with a service at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and no flowers, please.Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements.Mr. Kahalewai was born on October 24, 1946 in Honolulu. He was the son of the late Elizabeth & Enos Kahalewai.He was a heavy equipment operator with ROJAC Construction and a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Karakawa Kahalewai; sons, Reynold(Davlynn) Kahalewai; Leyton (Shaila) Kahalewai; daughters, Edlyn (Eddie Jr.) Carvalho, Edwyna (Kai) Tancayo; sisters, Dorothy Thomason, Elizabeth Kahalewai, Pauline Kahalewai, Mary Jane Kahalewai, Stephanie Sugai, Sarah Yerhot, Iwalani Kahalewai; grandchildren, Ashlyn Carvalho, Zachary Carvalho, Caitlyn Carvalho, Kaysha Kahalewai, R.J. Kahalewai, Shanelle Kahalewai, Roilyn Tancayo, Raycen Tancayo, Sheanalyn Kahalewai, and Teyvon Kahalewai.
