Edward Tadashi Takayama's Obituary
Edward Tadashi Takayama passed away peacefully of May 25th, 2026, at the proud age of 91.
Private services were held. Nakamura assisted with the arrangements.
Edward was born in Wailuku, HI, on September 16, 1934. He was the fourth child of Hachiro and Satomi Takayama. He graduated from Baldwin High School and went to the Devry Technical School of Chicago on the G.I. bill. He retired as the Supervisor of Maintenance at Hawaiian Tel and Verizon after many years of service. Edward loved to travel. He and his wife got to go to Japan, Korea, China, and Europe. His favorite place to visit was Las Vegas. His other interests were raising fish, reading, and watching K-dramas and UH sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Florence, sons: Layne (Sandi) and Craig (Taryn), grandchildren: Jordan, Joelle, Reece, Lindsey, and Tory, as well as his brother-in-law: Stanley Yatsutake.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hachiro and Satomi Takayama, brothers: Shoji (Michie) Takayama and Teruo (Ruth) Takayama, and sisters: Beverly (Hideo) Kaya and Alice (Stanley) Yatsutake.
