Edwin was born on November 19, 1947 in Honolulu to William & Julia Manini; he was the third of eight children. In 1966, he graduated high school and met his love, Kahiki Long. In 1974, they married and moved to Maui, where they raised 6 children. Edwin enjoyed sharing his home with loved ones and visitors alike. He retired from Grayline Tour Services in 2003. In his spare time, Ed could be found fixing things around the house, spending time with his family, and of course, cheering on his Chicago Bears. He will be remembered most for the spirit that proudly earned him the nickname “Uncle Aloha.”
Edwin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 42 years, Kahiki (Long) Manini; sons, William, Don & Kalae Manini; daughters, Kalula, Laa, & Annie Manini; and his treasured granddaughter, Victoria Olivia Manini-LeRoy. He is also survived by brothers, William “Aloha” Ka’ai’ai, Robert & James Manini; and sisters, Lucille & Donna Mae Manini.
