Elaine Kiyoko Sugai, 60, of Kihei, died on October 6, 2012, at home with her family, and under the care of Hospice Maui.Private services were held.Mrs. Sugai was born in Pahala, HI on August 22, 1952. She was a library assistant at Kihei Public Library.She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Sugai; her daughter, Liane Sugai; mother, Lily Iwamoto; sisters, Frances (Craig) Tsutsui, Florence (Jay) Kakuda, Debra (Dean) Reinking, Kristl Iwamoto. She was predeceased by her father, Yoshito Iwamoto.Elaine enjoyed boogie boarding, volunteering, and spending time with children. She touched a lot of lives while she was here. She was a member of the Young At Heart bible study at Hope Chapel. She was a true light of God’s love.
