Elaine Kimie Ota's Obituary
Elaine Kimie Ota, 74, of Kihei, passed away on November 7, 2015, at her home in Kihei. She was born on September 19, 1941, in Lahaina, HI.
A memorial service will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, November 21, 2015, with visitation at 10:30am, and services at 12:00 noon. Please feel free to honor Elaine with a lei, or small bouquet.
Many of us remember Elaine's beautiful smile, and flowers in her hair that matched her beautiful muu muu that she wore. Elaine loved travel, being a strong advocate, and selflessness. She lived for others, and nothing brought her more happiness than seeing and being with the ones she loved. She was also a member of the Maui Wheeler's Support Group. She did not allow her disability to keep her from pursuing her dreams and goals. Her nine years being with Bryan and Chris were filled with love and support, and we were each other’s biggest fans. She would have followed me and Chris to the edge of the earth if there were promise of more adventure.
Elaine is survived by her mother, Chiyoko Ota; brothers, Edward (Irene) Ota, Paul (Jean) Ota, and Charles (Elaine) Ota; sister, Jane (Richard) Gordon; many loving nieces and nephews, and her longtime friends and caregivers, Bryan Zoellner and Chris Martin.
