In Loving Memory of Elpidio Jacinto Ventura
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elpidio “Pidiong” Jacinto Ventura, of Kahului, Maui. He passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was 90 years old.
Elpidio was born on October 22, 1934, in Laoag City, Philippines to the late Vidal and Jacoba Ventura. He moved to Maui embracing his new community working for HC&S, Maui Marriott, and later becoming a Head Custodian at Lihikai School where he worked for more than 10 years until his retirement.
Elpidio is survived by his beloved wife, Benita Ventura children: Elven (Julie) Ventura, and Hazel (Fred) Foronda; and his grandchildren: Amanda, Alexa, Connor, and Zander. He is also survived by his brother, Florencio (Nenita) Ventura, sisters Lucrecia (Eugene, deceased) Alconcel and Leticia (Charlie) Hardbarger, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces who held him in great affection. He is predeceased by his sister, Josefina (Jamie) Alconcel.
Elpidio will be remembered for his kindness, his devotion to his family, and his strong work ethic which touched many lives. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and honor that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku, Maui. Visitation will be from 9:30-11am; Mass 11am-12pm, with refreshments to follow 12-1pm.
Burial will be at 2:00pm at Maui Memorial Park
The family invites all who knew Elpidio Jacinto Ventura to join them in celebrating his life and honoring his memory. His love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
