My memory of Emerson is a wonderful man, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He was a cheap date, always loved eating his peanut butter sandwich. He was compassionate, gave me advice on how to recover from my stroke. I was so grateful. Em as I call him, will be greatly missed. His smiles and positive attitude will always be remembered.

I met Emerson in 2010. We got talking while in the fishing department at Longs Drugs store….if my memory serves correctly. It was my first time visiting Maui so I needed to buy a fishing rod and reel.
Emerson told me to not buy anything but borrow his rod and reel instead! I took him up on his offer and the rest is history.
He made a new friend that day and so did I.
He showed me kindness and love. He made me feel welcomed in a new place.
I looked forward to returning every couple of years to fish with him while on vacation. His hospitality was such a blessing.
I was fortunate to get to see my dear brother one last time this August.
I am thankful to God for the time I had with Emerson. He was a loving and kind soul. I miss him dearly.
