Eric Kuhio Bega's Obituary
Eric Kuhio Bega of Kula, Maui, went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2021. Many who knew Eric will remember him for his sense of humor and his welcoming spirit. Eric was born in Wailuku, Maui on April 4, 1961. His parents are Betty Jean Bega and the late Stanley J. Bega.
Eric is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Mary Jean Bega, three daughters Rachel Rose Lilinoe Lockhart (Joshua), Gabrielle Anuhea Liana-Thomas (Daniel), and Mikaela Huali Bega, two grandchildren (Judah & Kilakila) with grandchild number three (Ericka) on the way, two brothers Stanley Kalani Bega and Maurice Bega (Renee), and two sisters Yvonne Plunkett (Charles) and Denise Bega.
Eric was employed by Wailea Blue Golf Course as an irrigation mechanic. He was also an active parishioner of Kula Catholic Community as a choir member and many other ministries. He enjoyed golfing, surfing, cooking, singing, and being with his family.
Please join us in paying final respects to Eric with a public viewing over ashes on December 17 at Christ the King Church from 6:00-8:00 pm. A private mass will take place at Holy Ghost Church in Kula on December 18 with burial to follow.
