Ernesto M. Agcaoili Sr.'s Obituary
Ernesto M. Agcaoili, 91, of Kahului, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family and the loving care of Hospice Maui on April 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born on February 23, 1924, in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Ernesto took a big leap of faith and courage to moved to Hawaii in 1946. He is known as a Sakada, the first to arrive in Hawaii to work as a laborer in the sugar cane fields. He retired from Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, May 4 at Nakamura Mortuary, with a service at 11 a.m. Ernesto will be laid to rest at Maui Memorial Park at 2 p.m. following his service.
Mr. Agcaoili was predeceased by his wife, Rosita (Barbosa) Agcaoili, and survived by his son, Ernesto Agcaoili Jr (Roxane Joan), and daughters, Roxanne (Paul) Tejada, Darlene Agcaoili and Leticia (Casey) Akahi. Ernest also leaves his 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
